The 2005 film “2001 Maniacs” directed by Tim Sullivan and receiving production support from the likes of Eli Roth, was a zany and gory film that spawned a cult following. Now, with the film sequel in the works: "2001 Maniacs: the Beverly Hellbillys", director Sullivan confesses he is a comic book fan. 2001 Maniacs the comic series is being released by Avatar Presses.
The first issue of the comic series is set to take place before the events of the first film, to better fill out the backstory. 2001 Maniacs if you haven’t had the pleasure of a viewing, stars Robert England as the head of a Southern town, Pleasant Valley, with a dark past, dark secret, and desire to feast on the BBQ’d flesh of visitors. Sullivan promises that the comic series will push the envelope with the sex and gore just as the original film did and as much as the sequel surely will. |
