The Johnny Depp and Tim Burton film version of the Sweeny Todd musical is still set for a Christmas release and is still set for its R rating. Earlier reports indicated some conflict on the film being under contract to be a PG-13 affair, however Dreamworks has stated that such rumors are off the mark and that due to the subject matter the film was always destined to be rated R. Whether or not the film will cut any gore or blood is still to be seen, since the film is still in its rough cut form and films are always subject to some more editing.
Right now Christmas is looking to be one jolly, bloody time. |
