“Number 13” is slated to released sometime in 2008 and is still in pre-production. The movie revolves around psychological horror genius Alfred Hitchcock’s first film, which has been known as Number 13 or Mrs. Peabody. This movie is a comedic look at Hitchcock after having finished the film, which is supposed to be a comedy, realizing it is not funny and decides to change a few things to turn it into a thriller. Thus Hitchcock is set off on the path to his legacy in a quirky manner.
Dan Folger, of Balls of Fury fame, recently gave an interview to MTV in which he compares Number 13 to being like a “Shakespeare in Love” for Hitchcock fans. Folger takes on the role of Hitchcock, however there are several other notable names attached to star as well: Ben Kingsley, Ewan McGregor, and Emily Mortimer. The truth behind Hitchcock’s first film is a real-life mystery with the director himself having been hard pressed to comment on it. The film was only partially completed before being axed in 1922. All of the footage and the script have vanished. |
