Fans of first person shooter video games were not exactly rejoicing after the somewhat horror based “Doom” came and left theatres. However, there seems to be more hope for the film version of Wolfenstein 3D, or as the film is to be called: “Return to Castle Wolfenstein.”
The video game Silent Hill was translated to film in a rather dark and entertaining way and that was thanks in part to writer Roger Avary. Avary is being given the writer and director’s seat on “Return to Castle Wolfenstein.” Other recent work by Avary was the adaptation of Beowulf set for a November 16th release. Wolfenstein is based on an Allied soldier during World War II as he infiltrates Nazi strongholds and fights against divisions of their supernatural order. - Wes Laurie |
