B movie icon David Hayes, comedian Kevin Moyers from the "Adam Carolla Show", and Ban 1 producer Jeff Dolniak are teaming up to make Cinema Head Cheese. The project is a proposed television show in the vein of Mystery Science Theater 3000, poking fun at genre movies. Their plan appears to be to shoot 13 episodes and then use that full slate of shows to seek a deal with broadcasting networks. They want this show to be chock full pf original material and that is where you come in; if you are a filmmaker. They want your genre movie so that they can watch it and possibly tear you a new one, all in good fun. Here is some information from their press release:
We would like to use unreleased genre films to riff to make the bulk of the series. At this stage, there would be no money for your involvement in the project. If the series is picked up, and your episode airs, you will receive 30% of the revenue derived from that airing. In addition, there is the possibility of future DVD releases of the show… which would include your films. In a nutshell: You send us our film, we make fun of it (as only 3 failed actors could), we cut it into a 40 minute television program (giving room for commercials) and plugging your website, movie, blog, company, etc. in the process. After this is completed, the Cinema Head Cheese team will then attempt to find a broadcast home for our (hopefully) hilarious new show. Once that is done, and your episode airs, you will receive 30% of the revenue generated from that airing (we aren't sure what kind of deal we will get, but something is better than nothing) and free publicity. The Rules: You MUST own the rights to your film. You MUST be able to deliver an NTSC Mini-DV or DVCAM master. You MUST have a sense of humor. The film MUST be a horror, sci-fi or exploitation film. The film MUST be at least 40 minutes in length. That's it.
