Here is a list of some of the horror based movies hitting DVD and a store near you, (hey there’s always an internet store), on Tuesday 8/28/07. Masters of Horror: Season 1: This boxed set anthology of the television series is pretty much a must have for any die-hard horror fan. The series consisted of many famous horror masters crating one hour movies for each episode. Season one consists of works from: Dario Argento, John Carpenter, Larry Cohen, Don Coscarelli, Joe Dante, Mick Garris, Stuart Gordon, Tobe Hooper, John Landis, William Malone, Lucky McKee, Takashi Miike, and John McNaughton Horrors of Malformed Men: A Japanese horror movie from 1969, it has been compared to the story of Dr. Moreau. Dinosaurus!: A 1960 monster movie about pre-historic creatures that are unleashed after some undersea explosions. Antibodies : A German thriller/horror involving a serial killer and how he influences the man trying to interrogate him. The Blood Rose: A 1970’s film advertised as the first “sex-horror” film ever made involving an actress who has been severely burned and some psychopathic midgets; wo needs a plot summary with that? Snake Woman’s Curse: Japanese horror directed by Nobuo Nakagawa in 1968. Good Against Evil/The Severed Arm: A double feature: Good Against Evil was a made for television film in 1977 about battling Devil worshippers. The Severed Arm is a 1973 film about men trapped in a cave who eat the arm of one of their comrades, who then seeks revenge. Messiah Of Evil/Sisters of Death: A Double feature; the first is a 1973 zombie film and the second is a 1977 film about a woman being killed during her initiation into a female secret society and then her crazed father seeks revenge. Voodoo Curse: The Giddeh/Mexican Werewolf In Texas: A double feature with one film directed by Glen Plummer (Saw II) about an African spirit conjured up and going on a bloody killing spree and another about a monster terrorizing a Mexican border town. - Wes Laurie |
