We first provided our coverage of the “Death Walks the Streets” project HERE. A massive undertaking spanning comic books and film, with the movie making still not having gotten underway. A Death Walks the Streets pod cast won a Myemmy award from Myspace and it was nominated on the Spike Tv Scream Awards as one of the most anticipated films. Fans that have been following the process of production and investing in merchandise got a bit of a shocker recently to find out that creative partners James Zahn and Matthew Harrison. An official statement shared was:
“After years of work to bring Death Walks The Streets to the screen James Zahn and Matthew S Harrison have decided to move in opposite directions. Looking forward into 2008, James has taken on some producing and acting roles and Matt is busy building the new Baby Galigo Studios property in Denver, along with producing three high budget films. The parting of ways is amicable and neither of them are ruling out working together in the future-but for now both are working on their own projects. “ However, the jolly spirit of supporters and creator Zahn himself have not dampened enthusiasm for Death Walks the Streets ever getting made. James Zahn has plans to soldier on and make sure death comes to the streets. No exact word on what he is working on to get this done, but you can still find Zahn working in the horror genre with such pictures as Lonely Joe in which he plays Steve Ford. Be sure to check out our Lonely Joe interview with director Michael Coonce if you haven’t already. Long live Indie film! May it bring death to our streets! - Wes Laurie |
