It’s not exactly horror movie news, however it looks like something that could have come from a high-budget horror film; very high budget. An investment group purchased the skull on August 30th for $100 Million dollars.
British artist Damien Hirst created this work of art which was modeled on a real skull, built from 32 platinum plates and 8,601 diamonds, using a hand laser to cut thousands of tiny diamond settings. The work has a 52-carat pink diamond at its center and is studded with 14 pear-shaped diamonds. Hirst is well known for his art consisting of taxidermy or cutting into animals.
