Tony award nominee Hunter Foster will play Dr. Frankenstein in an Off Broadway musical, with shows starting in October, but with the official opening being on Nov. 1st at Arts 37.
The show will feature music by Mark Baron and a book and lyrics by Jeffrey Jackson with Bill Fennelly directing. The story will be based on an adaptation by Gary P. Cohen, which tries to stick to the original and serious Mary Shelley tale. Hunter Foster is best known for his Broadway work in The Little Shop of Horrors, Urinetown, and The Producers. Coincidently his sister, Sutton Foster, has landed a role in the Mel Brooks musical comedy spoof: Young Frankenstein. She will play the lab assistant Inga and the show opens November 8th at the Rialto. |
