Hey horror movie collectors, here is a list of some of the horror movies hitting retail and rental shelves for October 14th of 2008. Sam Raimi’s Ghost House has released 8 movies under the Gost House Underground banner; another 8 Films To Die For knock off series? DVD Halloween: The 30th Anniversary Box Set from Anchor Bay Sweet Sixteen - The Director’s Cut: A new girl comes to a school and everyone wants to be around her. Then her dates start turning up dead. Alfred Hitchcock Premiere Collection: Includes the films: Lifeboat / Spellbound / Notorious / The Paradine Case / Sabotage / Young and Innocent / Rebecca / The Lodger Alien/Predator - Total Destruction Collection: Get all of the Alien and Predator movies as well as the Alien vs. Predator movies all in one collection! Brotherhood Of Blood: Sid Haig and horror icon Ken Foree team up in BROTHERHOOD OF BLOOD, a claustrophobic thriller about a team of vampire hunters who must infiltrate a nest of the undead to save one of their own. Dance Of The Dead: On the night of the big High-School Prom, the dead rise to eat the living, and the only people who can stop them are the losers who couldn't get dates to the dance. Dark Floors: A father and his autistic daughter try to escape a hospital that has mysteriously become a portal for dark creatures from a different world. Starring members of the internationally successful heavy metal band "Lordi." The Last House In The Woods: A woman escapes a group of bullies seeking to rape her and takes refuge with a seemingly kind couple who have a dark secret hidden in their quiet, secluded house. No Man’s Land: Rise Of The Reeker: A sheriff and his son chase casino robbers, only to find the all of them are being chased by something else. A sequel to The Reeker. Room 205: Wanting a fresh start, Katrine moves into a university dormitory but quickly learns the myth about a ghost of a former resident who was killed. The myth soon becomes a terrifying reality. The Substitute: The sixth-grade students of a small town begin to realize that their new substitute teacher is an alien. Trackman: A perfect bank heist turns deadly when the robbers and their hostages flee to an abandoned underground subway station where they encounter the Trackman, a deformed madman that prowls the darkness. Exploitation Cinema: There are several releasing under the EC name as movie two packs including - Galaxina/Star Crash, Malibu High/Trip With A Teacher, and Mausoleum with Blood Song. Icons Of Horror: Four Hammer Films, including - The Curse Of The Mummy’s Tomb, Scream Of Fear, The Two Faces of Dr. Jekyll, and The Gorgon. A Nightmare On Elm Street 1-4: The first four movies are released together in a single package. A Nightmare On Elm Street 5-8: The rest of Freddy’s adventures are together in a single package. Stuck: Stuart Gordon directed this one about a woman that hits man with her car. Instead of taking him to the hospital she leaves him stuck in her windshield in the garage. BLU-RAY Stuck is also out on Blu-ray the same day as well as: Constantine: Keanu Reeves fights evil minions. Eastern Promises: A dark thriller from David Cronenberg, who isn’t shy about violence and gore. Poltergeist: This haunting classic is now in HD. The Ultimate Matrix Collection: All of the movies dealing with the universe created in the sci-fi action series The Matrix. The biggest release this week is probably considered to be Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull; on both DVD and Blu-ray. - Wes Laurie |
