Playstation 3 launched one of the first available game titles, Resistance: Fall of Man. Over a year later this first person shooter is still a fan favorite and the online community is as alive as ever. The plot for Resistance is that instead of WW2 having occurred, Europe was swept over by what appeared to be an alien invasion. The aliens come in a variety of nasty buggers and many of them are in fact converted humans.
Sony and Insomniac games have officially announced the sequel! Resistance 2 is being geared up to be a huge game. Along with the single player campaign mode there will also be an up to 8 players co-op mode that will work via the internet; though you can also do the standard 2 player co-op without being connected. Also as part of the new online challenge, the game will expand to host matches that involve up to 60 players. The plot for part two picks up right where the first one left off and this time you will end up traveling to the USA. You will join a group of soldiers known as the Sentinel and face off against bad guys with newly amped up AI and other big surprises. It is said that the bleakness of the US during a depression will be exploited to a much darker degree. The first game did not include any real “bosses”, but it is rumored that part 2 shall, and it is also assumed that the usage of vehicles will play at least a slightly bigger role; at least many of us hope so. This time in the game there will also be “classes.” There are supposed to be three basic templates for starting: a heavier artillery type soldier with a chain gun, Special ops, and Medical.
