Shock Festival is the name of an upcoming book that may be of interest to horror fans. The book is from horror writer and artist Stephen Romano and will be published by IDW Publishing. The book is due out on October 25th.

Shock Festival is a 350 page book covering the history of many exploitation films…that never actually existed. The stories are told just like a normal informative coffee table book might do through interviews, photographs and facts, however all of it is fiction. Included with the history of these fake movies are fake movie posters created by Romano and his art team.

The book is not a big, elaborate joke, but more or less meant to be a creative homage to Romano’s enjoyment of those types of movies and memorabilia. Thus it is written as a serious collection of movies as opposed to a lot of tongue and cheek trying to make you giggle humor; though I am sure you will find plenty of reason to giggle knowing this.
