The remake of the 1987 film Stepfather is being headed up by the company Screen Gems and recently three names have been announced for the cast. Also a fourth person is stated to be in negotiations.
Attached to the project are: Sela Ward - She is somewhat of a regular on the made for TV movie circuit, though she was on the big screen opposite Kevin Costner in The Guardian. Dylan Walsh - One of the doctors from the show Nip/Tuck he has done some genre work for shows such as The Outer Limits and The Twilight Zone. Penn Badgley - Another actor who has done Twilight Zone, but the interesting tid-bit about him is he does voices for the Mario video games such as Mario Golf 64 and Mario Tennis; not Mario’s voice. Adrianne Palicki is in negotiations and she is Tyra from Friday Night Lights the tv show and also starred in 3 episodes of Supernatural as Jessica Moore. The plot centers on a teenage boy (Badgley) who discovers his soon-to-be stepfather isn’t all he appears. In fact, the man who fell in love with his mother (Sela Ward), might be a psycho who murdered his previous family. Palicki would play the boy’s girlfriend. Nelson McCormick of Prom Night fame is set to direct with filming hoping to get underway by March or April. - Wes Laurie |
