Well, if you thought this whole swine flu thing is deadly, just wait until Nifty Entertainment and SynapseFX unleash their "hog" on you!
Today, producers for THE HOG, an indie horror/comedy film about a cheerleader-munching killer pig loose on a college campus, signed 15-year motion picture veteran Josh Foster and his SynapseFX team to handle the special effects for their project. THE HOG, written and directed by comic book creator and film industry veteran Mat Nastos (STINGER) and starring Internet celebrity Mona Gillen (Liv Films) in her feature film debut, is the story of Stu, a deranged nerd who has been pushed too far. When his beloved pig, Porkchop, is accidentally injured in a prank gone wrong, Stu uses experimental robotic technology to turn his pet into a cyborg killing machine, seeking vengeance against the jocks and cheerleaders who have done him wrong. "We're all super exited to have the Synapse team onboard!", says Special Effects Supervisor Brian Rife, "Their enthusiasm and creativity are sure to give THE HOG not only a score of gore but a 'killer' killer pig!" Josh Foster has been doing special effects for television and motion pictures since 1994, and has handled the effects for almost two dozen feature films, including the soon-to-be-released "TRANSMORPHERS: FALL OF MAN", "BLOOD RIVER", and "HEIST". THE HOG begins production next month and is set for release in early 2010. - Heather Wixson |
